Introduction & Background

The Urban Advocates and Achievers (UAA), founded in 2012 is a 501© (3), non-profit community based organization located in Sacramento, California providing a personalized approach to helping all students achieve an equitable education experience. Our personalized approach is designed to provide a holistic approach to empower, uplift both the student and their family to help improve the quality of life for the family as a whole.

The Advocacy Network and Resource Program (ANRP), is a collaborative effort lead by Urban Advocates and Achievers and the Office of Campus Community Relations at UC Davis that brings the resources of an entire community together to increase the educational opportunities for students in the Promise Zone and the greater Sacramento area.

The UAA strategically coordinates and aligns resources of an entire community together to increase the educational success for all students and to significantly improve the quality of life for families as a whole in the Promise Zone and the greater Sacramento region.

The creation of the Urban Advocates and Achievers, was inspired by the lack of “academic and 21st Century Learning opportunities” that historically resulted in many youth, students, families and communities being under-served in the Sacramento region.
